Welcome to Monday Night RAW!

The night starts out with a small video package summarizing main event last week between Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens for the WWE Universal Championship. It shows how Chris Jericho was banned from ringside during the match, but interfered in the match to help Owens retain the title.

The show begins with Jericho’s segment “The Highlight Reel”. Jericho’s special guest is none other than Kevin Owens. They start off by making fun of the United States of America and their actions on Black Friday. After talking about how Canadians are better, Roman Reigns interrupts the Highlight Reel and receives a mix of boo’s and cheers from the crowd. He says the Kevin Owens being champion is a joke, and he wants to fight later in the evening. Kevin Owens agrees, but tells Reigns that he doesn’t need Jericho by his side.

After commercial break, Owens and Jericho are in the back of the arena and they are arguing about what was said in the ring. The two bicker and Jericho says that Kevin Owens is on his own.

R Truth vs. Braun Strowman

R. Truth jobs to Braun Strowman and Strowman gets the easy victory. Goldust enters the ring to check on R. Truth and attacks Strowman. Strowman man-handles Goldust, but Sami Zayn rushes down to the ring to confront Strowman after he was destroyed the week before. It looks as if Strowman is going to demolish Zayn similar to the week before. However, similar to last week, Mick Foley comes down to the ring and stops the chaos.

Foley and Zayn start to argue about Zayn’s decisions. Foley gets amped up and cuts a promo in classic fasion. He yells in Zayn’s face about how Stephanie McMahon wanted him fired after he lost the Intercontinental Title match to The Miz at Survivor Series. He continues to tell Zayn that the match with Strowman last week was a punishment but it turned into a massacre. He tells Zayn that he is saving Zayn from himself. Zayn calls Foley a hypocrite and walks to the back.

Charlotte and Dana Brooke and in the back, and Charlotte is preparing for her Women’s Title match against Sasha Banks later that night. Charlotte says that she will be the only legend to leave her city, and she will cement her legacy.

Cedric Alexander vs. Tony Nese

Cedric Alexander, Charlotte native, faces off against Nese. The high flying, action packed match included lots of smash mouth physical wrestling as well. However, Tony Nese picked up the victory.

It is decided that if Roman Reigns defeats Kevin Owens later in the night, then Roman Reigns will get a WWE Universal Title match at Roadblock.

The camera shifts to the back where Chris Jericho is heading out of the arena. He is confronted about the fact that him and Kevin Owens may be faking the argument. He scolds the reporter, and as he walks to his car, he is met by Seth Rollins. Seth Rollins proceeds to attack Jericho in the parking lot and pedigree him on top of the car! Seth Rollins was not suppose to be at RAW tonight!

 

Women’s Title Match: Charlotte (c) vs. Sasha Banks

Charlotte is in her hometown, and the crowd seems to be into the match. The women fight in the ring, going back and forth. The action moves to the outside of the ring where a double count-out is decided and Charlotte retains the title. Mick Foley comes out and says the match must be restarted later in the night, and it will be a no count out, no disqualification, and falls count anywhere match.

Rusev vs. Enzo

Lana introduces Rusev, and Enzo makes his way to the ring with Big Cass. They do their daily routine getting the crowd involved.

Rusev clotheslines Enzo into another dimension, and then gives him a low blow.

Rich Swann vs. Noam Dar

The Brian Kendrick, the current Cruiserweight Champion is a special guest commentator for this match, and he talks about the mistakes he has made and how he has made his triumphant comeback. He continues to say that the cruiser-weight division is back because of him. The Brian Kendrick faces Rich Swann for the Cruiserweight Title on Tuesday night!

Meanwhile, Rich Swann and Noam Dar are going back in the forth in the ring. The match is action packed and Swann lands a knockout kick to Dar to pick up the victory.

Promo: Cesaro and Sheamus are seen at a bar arguing. Fans start trash talking them, and start beating two fans up in the bar! Cesaro grabs one of the fans making fun of him and throws him through the wall!

Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns

Owens attacks Reigns before the match and issues a blindside attack. The match moves to the outside of the ring where the two men trade blows. Kevin Owens is in control as RAW heads into commercial break.

Back from commercial break, Reigns is in control as the crowd boo’s him. Kevin Owens counters Reigns and plants him with a DDT. He proceeds to mock Kevin Owens and hits the canon ball on Reigns. Owens puts Reigns in a sleeper hold, but Roman counters it and gains momentum. The two men trade blows as Owens gets cheered and Reigns gets booed, finally Reigns hits Owens with a Samoan Drop Power Slam. Owens gets up and plants Reigns to the mat, goes to the top rope but Reigns gets up and delivers a Super-Man Punch to Owens. Owens falls to the outside and tries to run away but Reigns delivers another Super-Man Punch on the outside. Reigns hits the spear on Owens and picks up the victory. Roman Reigns is the number one contender for the WWE Universal Championship.

Paul Heyman Addresses Brock Lesnar’s Loss To Goldberg at Survivor Series

Paul Heyman says they took Goldberg lightly, and it was a joke. You can see Heyman crying in pain due to the thought of Brock losing the match in an awful fashion. Heyman says that Brock has suffered broken ribs, and is humiliated by what transpired at Survivor Series. He says that Brock is embarrassed, and he has something to prove. Heyman is scared because that moment can define someone, destroy someone, or propel someone to an incredible height. Brock Lesnar has something to prove, and Brock Lesnar is in the Royal Rumble.
